Patrick McCormick

Entertainment & Media Litigation


Patrick E. McCormick is an associate in Liner's Litigation Group. Patrick focuses his practice on defamation, corporate matters, labor and employment disputes, film financing, screen credit damages, and confidentiality protections. His clients include performers, writers, producers, law firms, and small studios and production companies.

Patrick has worked in the entertainment industry since 2003. Prior to joining Liner, he worked at the USC Intellectual Property & Technology Law Clinic, where he represented independent filmmakers in life rights negotiations, E&O insurance obtainment, and fair use analysis, and participated in roundtables at the U.S. Copyright Office, lobbying for orphan works reform. During his time at USC, Patrick also worked at Donaldson+Callif, NBCUniversal, Warner Bros., and Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, as well as externing for the Honorable Neil W. Bason (U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California).

Prior to law school, Patrick worked in film and television production and attended the New York Film Academy's Master of Fine Arts program. He achieved his Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University.
